software

[Windows]orWatcherLite[Mac])monitorandmanageyour
wirelessconnections.
YourmodemusestheSierraWirelessTRU‐Installfeature—the
driversand softwareareinstalledwhenyouinsertthemodem
intoyourcomputer.
Thedevicedriversoftwareenablesthemodemtoworkwith
yourcomputer’s
operatingsystem.
UsingtheWatcher(Windows)orWatcherLite(Mac)software,
youcanmanagethemodemandmonitoryourconnections.
Forstep‐by‐stepinstructionstoaccessfeaturesofWatcher
(Windows),usetheapplication’sonlinehelp.
CDMA service provider account
CompaniesthatoperateCDMAnetworksandprovideaccess
tothesenetworksarecalledserviceproviders.Tousethe
modem,youmusthaveanaccountwithaCDMAservice
provider.
Note: You can use the Lock
Modem feature to prevent others
from using your account, should
your modem be stolen.
Eachserviceproviderhasitsownpricingoptions.Theremay
beflatrateaccounts,whichprovideyouamaximumnumber
ofminutesofnetworkusageforafixedmonthlyfee.There
maybeaccountsforwhichyouarechargedfornetworkusage
bytheminuteorbytheamountofdata
transmitted.
Youraccountmayincludeavarietyofotherservicessuchas
SMSmessagingorlocation‐basedservices(Windowsonly).
Eachmodem hasbeenprovisionedatthefactoryforusewitha
particularserviceprovider.Thissetsthemodemtouse
particularradiochannelsandenablesservicesspecificforthat
provider.
The
processofsettingupyouraccountiscalledactivation.
Activationinvolvesactionbytheserviceproviderandconfigu‐
rationofthemodem.
